Ruth Boydell

I am an end of life doula, or death midwife. I am a companion to people on their final life journey.
I listen to people's needs. I offer gentle guidance, reassurance and compassionate support for individuals and their families.
I am LBGTIQ+ aware and friendly.
I have self-contained accommodation in Newcastle where I can support you and your family. My home is in Garden Suburb near John Hunter Hospital and accessible to palliative services if you need them.
Threshold singing is to sing for those crossing the threshold of life. It is freely available upon request. It is like a lullaby for adults.

Currently taking a Master of Arts degree in pastoral care (I am not religious, but very interested in our spiritual journeying). I have completed End of Life Doula training with Denise Love, Helen Callanan and Zenith Virago. I am Yoga Teacher trained (with Swami Sarasvati). I facilitate educative workshops for Rest Assured and others in the Newcastle Compassionate Community. I have had experience with supporting and being present for a number of my family through their transition; and more directly with the experience of doula work.
